SIX DISTINGUISHED SENIOR OFFICERS DECORATED AS DEPUTY-COMPTROLLERS GENERAL IN THE NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board (CDCFIB), under the Ministry of Interior, has decorated a new set of Deputy Comptrollers, Controllers and Commandants General (DCGs), among whom are six distinguished officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service: DCG N Odikpo, DCG AS Rano, DCG FU Nwaneka, DCG SB Daura, DCG DM Bagari, DCG A Obanime, and DCG SA Rano.

  1. Delivering his opening remarks, the Secretary of the CDCFIB, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) A.M. Jibril, warmly congratulated the appointees and highlighted the far-reaching significance of their elevation, describing it as a milestone that will strengthen leadership within the Service and open doors for greater career advancement, to which they were subsequently invited and decorated by the Honourable Minister of Interior.

The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, during his closing remarks reaffirmed that the appointments were anchored on merit, urging the newly promoted DCGs to demonstrate greater commitment and leadership as they support the CGI in discharging her duty of building a strong, verifiable institution while also enhancing National Security and service excellence. He further pledged the Federal Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring officers’ steady career growth and progression within the Service
  3. Responding on behalf of the decorated officers, DCG N Odikpo expressed deep appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, GCFR for the trust and confidence reposed in them. She also thanked the Honourable Minister and the CDCFIB Secretary for their roles in the process, pledging that the newly elevated DCGs will work diligently to justify their appointments and contribute positively to National Security. ⁠

    The Comptroller-General of Immigration, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, received the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, to the Service Headquarters in Abuja today, where they inspected the newly built Centralized Passport Personalization Center.

    The delegation toured the facility, accompanied by technical partners who provided detailed briefings on each unit within the state-of-the-art center. Journalists were also present, gaining first-hand insight into this significant milestone in passport administration.

    This world-class facility, equipped with cutting-edge technology is designed to put an end to production of passports across multiple centres and centralization in one location. This will significantly boost passport production capacity and streamline the process for Nigerians seeking passports by reducing their waiting time.

    The Honorable Minister described the new passport center as a long-awaited achievement, marking a significant milestone for the NIS since 1963. He expressed gratitude to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support, noting that the center will boost daily passport production from 300 to 5,000 units, aligning with global standards. This upgrade is expected to eliminate backlogs and delays, ensuring Nigerians receive their passports in record time.

    The Nigeria Immigration Service remains firmly committed to delivering seamless, transparent, and efficient passport services to all Nigerians worldwide, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional service.

    NIS PARTNERS GERMAN FEDERAL POLICE, RECEIVES 40 WALKIE-TALKIE RADIOS TO STRENGTHEN OPERATIONAL CAPACITY

    The Nigeria Immigration Service has received forty (40) pieces of Motorola DP4801e Walkie-Talkie Radios donated by the German Federal Police, as part of the ongoing cooperation between both institutions. The official handing-over ceremony took place on 4th August, 2025, at the Service Headquarters, Abuja.

    1. Representing the German Embassy at the ceremony were Mr. Felix Haala, Press Counsellor, and Miss Roil Ukwu, Press Communication Officer, on behalf of the German Federal Police.
    2. The Comptroller General, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn through the Comptroller for Bilateral and Multilateral engagements AD Crown, expressed appreciation to the German Government for the donation, noting that the equipments will go a long way in boosting communication efficiency, strengthening field operations, and supporting the Service’s broader mandate of ensuring Border Security and effective Migration Management.
    3. This engagement further cements the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Germany, while reinforcing shared commitments to security cooperation and improved Migration Governance.

    The Nigeria Immigration Service top management attended the opening ceremony of the 2025 Ministers’ Conference of the Ministry of Interior themed “From Plan to Result – Strengthening Institutional Performance in the Ministry of Interior.” held on 28th August 2025, at Zuma Rock Resort, Suleja, Niger State.

    The high-level conference, organized by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, convened 58 senior officers from agencies under the Ministry, all Directors, and members of the Board led by the Secretary Maj. Gen A.M. Jebiri(RtD). Also in attendance was the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Mrs. Hadiza Bala Usman.

    The conference facilitated comprehensive discussions on the theme, exploring innovations, reforms, and performance enhancements to optimize the Ministry and its agencies’ efficiency and Service Delivery.

    In his keynote address, the Honorable Minister, stressed the imperative of innovation and reforms to boost institutional performance and achieve tangible outcomes. While acknowledging existing challenges, he commended the progress made by agencies and encouraged stakeholders to remain committed to excellence and enhanced Service Delivery, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s vision for a better future.

    NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE ANNOUNCES UPWARD REVIEW OF NIGERIAN STANDARD PASSPORT FEES.

    In a bid to uphold the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Passport, the Nigeria Immigration Service hereby announces an upward review of Nigerian Stardard Passport fees, set to take effect on 1st September, 2025.

    2. The review which only affect Passport Application fees made in Nigeria, now set a new fee thresholds for 32-page with 5-year validity at N100,000 and 64-page with 10-year validity at N200,000.

    3. Meanwhile, Nigerian Passport Application fees made by Nigerians in diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for 32-page with 5-year validity and $230 for 64-page with 10-year validity.

    4. The Service reiterates its commitment to balancing quality service delivery with the need to ensure Passport services are accessible to all Nigerians.

    The Nigeria Immigration Service held a sensitization engagement yesterday, 22nd August, 2025, for retired Immigration officers and operators of Free Trade Zones in Lagos and Ogun states, promoting synergy and information sharing.

    The Comptroller General, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn was represented by ACG FU Nwanneka, mni, in-charge Visa and Residency Directorate who delivered the keynote address which harped on the need for all stakeholders to key into the new policy as the government revamps and digitizes Nigeria visa application process.The Zonal Coordinator for Zone A, ACG EL Anugwa pcc, fsi, fcna welcomed and engaged all participants.

    Presentations seamlessly linked policy and operations, highlighting NARIO’s valuable advisory role. Technical sessions delivered comprehensive insights into critical topics, from e-Visa and Regular Visa, e-Cerpac, e-TWP, to Landing/Exit Card and Amnesty, providing a thorough understanding of policy and workflow intricacies.

    The successful conclusion of the Lagos stakeholders’ engagement has further deepened NIS collaboration with business regulators and NARIO.

    The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service and Chairperson of the
    ECOWAS Heads of Immigration, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, on Tuesday, 5th August
    2025, decorated 15 newly promoted Comptrollers to the rank of Assistant Comptroller-
    General (ACG) at a ceremony held at the Service Headquarters, Abuja.

    1. In his opening remarks, the Deputy Comptroller-General, Human Resources
      Management Directorate, A. Ayeni, welcomed attendees and congratulated the
      newly promoted officers, noting that their elevation reflects hard work,
      integrity, and leadership. He thereafter announced the names of the newly
      promoted ACGs for the CGIS to decorate.
    2. The Comptroller-General, in her remarks appreciated the Honourable Minister
      of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Secretary of the Civil Defence,
      Correctional, Fire and Immigration Service Board (CDCFIB), Major General (Rtd)
      AM Jibril, for sustaining the unprecedented wave of promotions experienced
      under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. Speaking
      further, she noted that this year’s promotion list for ACG’s was released earlier
      than that of last year, reinforcing a new era of smooth career progression and
      institutional growth within the Service.
    3. Addressing the newly decorated senior officers, the CGIS stated that their new
      ranks come with greater leadership responsibilities and charged them to lead
      with fairness, professionalism, and strategic focus, inspiring excellence at all
