NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE RECEIVES OPERATIONAL VEHICLES DONATED BY GERMAN FEDERAL POLICE, TO FACILITATE BORDER SECURITY AND MIGRATION MANAGEMENT
Great strides in enhancing Border Security was made today, 20th December, 2024 as the Nigeria Immigration Service, officially, received two (2) operational vehicles donated by the German Federal Police.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy, Mr. Johannes Lehne, who represented the German Ambassador to Nigeria highlighted the importance of the continued synergy between Nigeria Immigration Service and the German Federal Police towards the shared goal and commitment to Border Security and Migration Management.
In her response, the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, expressed her appreciation to the German Federal Police and the German Government for their continuous support and partnership.
The CGIS further stated that these operational vehicles will be deployed to the Borders and will complement the NIS ongoing commitment towards strengthening Border Security logistics which is in line with this present administration’s priority of securing Nigeria’s Borders and ensuring safe, orderly and humane Migration.

The Nigeria Immigration Service marked another milestone of excellence with its grand Dinner and Award Night held on 7th December, 2024, at the Service Headquarters. The event, which brought together senior officials and distinguished guests, was a fitting occasion to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of officers and personnel who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism and service throughout the year.
The evening’s highlight was the presentation of awards to officers who had gone above and beyond in their duties, reflecting the core values of the Nigeria Immigration Service—integrity, discipline, and commitment to National Service. From high-ranking officers to support staff, the awards acknowledged exceptional performance in various categories, including leadership, innovation, resourcefulness, gallantry and Post Humous.
CGIS KN Nandap pcc, mmis, fsmn, in her remarks, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all officers and personnel for their continued dedication to the Service’s mission. She noted that the awardees epitomized the values that the Service stands for, stressing that their hard work, perseverance and professionalism has played a crucial role in strengthening the operations of the Service.
The dinner served as a moment for reflection on the year’s achievements and challenges, with a strong emphasis on reinforcing the Service goals for the coming year. The CGIS reiterated the importance of maintaining a high standard of conduct, enhancing the capacity of officers and improving operational efficiency in line with global best practices.
The evening ended on a note of camaraderie and celebration, as officers, both young and experienced, reflected on their shared mission to protect and serve the Nation with honor and pride.

COMPTROLLER GENERAL, NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE CHARGES OFFICERS TO EXCEED CUSTOMERS EXPECTATIONS AS THE SERVICE CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMER WEEK
As the world celebrates International Customer Service Week with the theme: “Above and Beyond”, the Nigeria Immigration Service is holding a week-long programme aimed at appreciating its customers for the robust engagements being enjoyed with them overtime, and to reflect on strategies required to reposition the Service for excellent Service delivery.
Addressing Participants at the Programme, the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, ably represented by the Deputy Comptroller General, Human Resource Management (DCG-HRM), AJ Umanah, said, ‘Service under the Current Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and the Ministerial Stewardship of the Honourable Minister of Interior(HMI), Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has ‘grown in leaps and bounds in the Customer Service, staff welfare and Infrastructure.’ According to her, uppermost on her mind since appointment as Comptroller General, has been ‘how to improve customer service through seamless, timely, efficient and quality service delivery and holistic approach to staff development and welfare.
The CGIS stated that NIS’ commitment to customer service can be visibly seen in the progress being made in Passport automation, Visa policy 2024, welfare/capacity building. Others are virtual solutions including the construction of Command and Control Centre, e-gates and Advanced Passenger Information/Passenger Name Record (API/PNR) which are critical to border security and attraction of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the Country. She urged Officers to work diligently at exceeding customers’ expectations, as their work will speak for them long after leaving the Service.
The Special Assistant (SA), Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM), to the CGIS, MA Abubakar, in a speech observed that Customer Service is the core of human existence. He outlined that the week-long event will feature the conduct of a monitoring and evaluation exercise to NIS customers in FCT and capacity-building training for officers towards living up to the theme of this year’s International Week.
In her remarks, the National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer, SERVICOM Office, Presidency, Mrs Nnenna Akagemeli, identified Nigeria Immigration as one of the Customer Service Agencies of Government. She further stated that the great improvement made in service delivery has led to a drastic reduction in the number of complaints from the public; hence, emphasised the need to sustain the tempo.
