NIS CHARGES 14TH COMMAND COURSE GRADUATES ON SMART BORDERS AND TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN MIGRATION MANAGEMENT

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, fsmn, was represented by Assistant Comptroller-General in charge Human Resources Directorate, ACG SU Agba, pcc, ica, at the Graduation Ceremony of the 14th Command Course of the Immigration Command and Staff College (ICSC), Sokoto, which took place on Saturday 3rd October 2026. The course was held under the theme: “Smart Borders: Leveraging Technology for Efficient Migration Control and Border Management.”

  1. The Ag. Commandant, ICSC, CIS Musa Chonoko, pcc+, congratulated the 77 graduating officers, urging them to lead with integrity, discipline, professionalism and commitment to duty while carrying the flag of the Service. He expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Immigration for her commitment and dedication to capacity development and strategic leadership training, while also acknowledging the support of the staff of the College and Stakeholders during the course.
  2. In her address, the Comptroller-General of Immigration charged the graduating officers to return to their respective Formations as change agents, strategic thinkers and problem-solvers, translating the knowledge gained during the course into measurable improvements in operational efficiency and Service Delivery. She further urged them to embrace technology, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, mentor subordinates and uphold integrity, accountability and professionalism at all times.
  3. The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, including the representatives of the Governor of Sokoto State, His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto, and Heads of sister security agencies in Sokoto State. They lauded the graduating officers and commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for its contributions towards national security and development.
  4. The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirmed its commitment to continuous capacity development, leadership training and professional excellence of its personnel critical to building a modern, technology-driven and responsive Service capable of effectively delivering on its mandate.
