The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, fspsp, yesterday 30th April, 2026 received the Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, accompanied by a high delegation, on a courtesy visit to the Service Headquarters in Abuja.

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, fspsp, yesterday 30th April, 2026 received the Vice Chancellor, University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya, accompanied by a high delegation, on a courtesy visit to the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
- The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration following the establishment of an Institute of Migration by the University, which is intended to advance research, policy development, and academic engagement on migration-related issues.
- The Vice-Chancellor stated that the Institute seeks collaboration with the Service in key areas such as Data sharing and capacity building, noting that such partnership would support evidence-based migration governance and enrich policy discourse.
- In her remarks, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, KN Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsmn, fspsp, described the initiative as a welcome development and a valuable opportunity for the Service. She noted that the Institute could play a critical role in conducting research and generating credible data that would support the Service in policy formulation and strategic planning.
- The Comptroller-General further stated that while the Service is not opposed to the “Japa” phenomenon, it strongly advocates for safe, orderly, and regular migration. She stated that the partnership will create a valuable platform to sensitize students on proper migration practices, while also exposing them to ongoing reforms and innovations within the Service
- The Nigeria Immigration Service reaffirms its commitment to partnerships with academic institutions and relevant stakeholders in promoting safe migration practices, strengthening national security, and supporting data-driven policy development.
